What are you willing to do to educate all children?


There needs to be a clear round of communication in schools. Education is very important in order for one to succeed. Communication is needed in a classroom with the students from teachers in order to accommodate into their needs in the classroom to be able to understand and help them in any way they can possibly can. Effective communication with other teachers has the benefits of sharing ideas for lesson plans, advice, collaboration and much more. Engaging with other teachers in the school is super beneficial for the students and teacher effectiveness. Without communication the students wouldn’t be as successful as they could be with the use of communication. 

The teachers need an effective communication skill with the students to be able to understand how they need to learn and also need to build on the trust between the student and teacher. Trust plays a role in education and learning, without the trust of a student, the relationship wouldn't be strong so the student wouldn't have a positive influence on their success as much as students have a trust bond with the teachers. A lack of trust in classroom can cause the students to feel unsafe, unheard and uncomfortable which can lead to behavioral problems in the classroom, so its essential to develop trust with our students in the classrooms. In the future I will incorporate these important aspects into my future classroom.

What is worth learning?

In this module, I learned that teachers don't have a set curriculum given to them. I didn't realize it until this module, I would always get confused that some of my friends from a different school would learn different things and not read the same books I read. I was surprised about the hidden curriculum, its described as how one should behave, who people are, what gender, class and culture are learned through the hidden curricula and the assumptions that are embedded in language and culture. As a future educator I need to make sure that my students are fully engaged within the curriculum and actually want to learn. I already knew about the explicit curriculum due to me having to follow the routines and procedures in the classroom that were being formed since kindergarten to twelfth grade. The lower income schools have a lack of materials and resources to succeed, while as higher income schools have more than enough resources to succeed.

What is the purpose of schools?

American system of public schools is one of the most nations most significant and still unfinished movements.
